Canadian choreographer, dancer and game designer JoDee Allen will be in residency at Flux Laboratory from March 21st until April 11th 2018.
Most dance videogames lie upon an imitation of the relationship that exists between the player and the game. Breakdance expert JoDee Allen knows how stimulating and fun improvisation can be, which is the reason behind her work: she contributes to the creation of dance videogames in which the players collect points based on their dancing creativity, rather than on their ability to mimic movements.
The objective of the three-week residency is to create a dance videogame prototype, which will be presented on April 10th during the third “Forum”, a conference cycle about technological innovation in artistic fields.
