Residence Fanny Balestro

Fanny Balestro
22.09-29.09.17
French cellist Fanny Balestro began her music studies in France along with studies in "Lettres Supérieures" (hypôkhâgne).
She also formed herself in classic and contemporary dance and developped a real love for the scene since her earliest childhood.
In 2010 she entered the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne - where she currently lives - and obtained her Masters in Interpretation in 2015 ; at this occasion she received a prize for her second recital called "Violoncelle en mouvement" which lead her to create her company MUance and its first show « itin-er(r)ance », conceived the 4th of March 2017.
In the course of time and as a genuinely eclectic artist, Fanny always tries to expand her work into new forms of expression, such as improvisation or theatre. Since 2011 she satisfies her need of creation and artistic exchange within Alternance Théâtre’s company, where she tries to find the intimate connections between different disciplines through the gesture, either musical, scenic or choreographical.
Fanny is equally opened to other types of music genres within several artistic projects such as the expermiental trio Lusido or the pop-folk univers of Elynn the Green.
During her residency, Fanny will put the finishing touches to the choreography of "itin-er(r)ance", which will be presented at Flux Laboratory on September 29th 2017.
