CATA'STROPHES (Mouvement International)

On the occasion of the inauguration of the new International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva on May 18, 2013, the choreographer Foofwa d’Imobilité presented a piece, sponsored by the Foundation.
CATA’STROPHES (International Movement)
In the courtyard in front of the entrance to the Red Cross Museum, 18 dancers mixed in among the statues of the Petrified to enact a series of choreographed disasters: falling down, recovering, falling again. Once in a while they go back to being as rigid as the statues, and then return to nonstop movement: running, breaking up, rescuing, fighting, helping each other. The dancers’ sounds, breathing, and voices are amplified. Strobe lights multiply the chaos as they mingle dramatically with the natural lighting.
