Screening of Lagune by Daphné Bengoa and Denis Savary

On November 11 at 7 p.m., the Swiss Institute of Rome presents a public meeting with the visual artist Denis Savary, in conversation with Pier Paolo Pancotto and Samuel Gross, chief curator of the Institute. During the evening Lagune will be projected, a short movie directed by Daphné Bengoa and the artist himself, Denis Savary.
To mark the centenary of DADA in 2016, Savary has created a choreography titled Lagune.
The performance is organized around a puppet freely inspired by the work of Sophie Taeuber-Arp, The Robot King, and was presented in Zurich, Geneva and Athens. Lagune rebuilt a floating city, the imaginary kingdom of The Robot King, whose facades and all the walls are mobile, and are constantly moved by six dancers. This city, as battered by the sea, is under the influence of the imaginary wave formed by the dancers gliding movements.
