"Robot, l’amour éternel"
Un spectacle de Kaori Ito
Production : Compagnie Himé
Residence at Flux Laboratory for her creation "Robot, l’amour éternel", creation planned in October 2017.
In Japan, robots are progressively working in retirement homes, at hotel receptions or even for people lacking affection and love. Some merely live with robots lovers. And they are happy with them.
Through this new creation, I wish to invert the relations and will interrogate the way one can perform a robot as a human or dancer. How can one perform a non-emotional being imitating human emotions?
Different rehearsals will take place in Marseille, Geneva, Toulouse etc, leading to the final creation planned in October 2017.
After her creation "Je danse parce que je me méfie des mots" presented in November 2015 at l’ADC, Kaori Ito is back in Geneva for a residence for her new project entitled "Robot, l’amour éternel". Laureate of the réseau des spectateurs de danse DanceAujourd’hui award, her creation is supported by patrons of the dance and the BNP Paribas foundation. An international artist, she has worked with choreographers such as Angelin Preljocaj, Alain Platel, Philippe Decouflé, James Thierrée as well as the producers Denis Podalydès and Guy Cassiers. In 2015, she was appointed Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres and received the award of the Nouveau talent chorégraphie by the Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (SACD).
